Certainly one of the more challenging fundraisers the youth, and leaders have had to do, but we thank the Lord for the attitude of all during this walk, and the safe time throughout the day.

Throughout the week the weather forcast had not been that good but as agreed, we were going to go for it. We certainly had the April showers, they were just frozen.

MINISTRY UPDATE

Dear Pastor, The Deacons and the Church family,

As we bring this update of the Ministry unto you, let us praise God for our labor, together, in the Lord is not in vain.We want thank you, again, for your love, prayers and regular supports that keep the work grow.

Tabernacle Baptist Bible College Conducted its 11th Graduation Exercise:

March 23, 2012 Rev. Ron Cole (HELP Ministries) has conferred B.Th degrees on seven Young people and another 15 of them received Diploma Certificates

His message was not only challenging the Graduates but the entire audience of different age groups.

Pastor Todd Herold of First Baptist Church Okahumpka, FL was the main Graduation speaker. It was a well attended meeting. The convocation service altogether was wonderful.

Nazareth English School Celebrated its 41st Anniversary:

This is the first Christian English medium School in Mizoram. On 23, March 2012 along with the Bible College graduation we have celebrated the 41st Anniversary of our day School. The School kids’ participation made the function grand. Over a 1200 people attended the function where Pastor Todd and Bro. Ron ministered the Word of God. It is the Lord’s doing that Nazareth English School is standing for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Souls were drawn to Christ:

As Pastor Todd and Rev. Ron preached the word, in every meeting, several souls got saved and the saved ones were being challenged to reach the unreached.

Baptism Service Held:

Pastor Todd Herold Baptized four young people in a river, 25 miles away from where we live. Bro. Ron Cole divided the word at the Baptism site and the service was great. On our way back home we halted at our “Gospel Camp” and had our Sunday worship Service in the Way of Truth Chapel.

In the Night, we observed the second ordinance the Lord entrusted to the Church. Pastor Todd Served the Lord’s Table.

Ordination Service:

On request of the Local Church, Bro. Three June (one of the Graduates from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College) was set apart by laying on hands for a Pastoral Ministry. The Service was solemnized by Pastor Todd and other Pastors who were invited joint him in the service. Pastor Three June will take up the Ministry at a New –born Church. Pastor A.D. Mathew visited a new place last December, 2011 where people got saved, Baptized and a New church was planted. Bro. Three June will serve this church.

Missionary of the month:

Pastor Three June and his wife have one child aged eight years old. They are going to serve a new- born church in the border of Bangladesh and India. This is located deep in the wood. They need our prayers and support. Will you pray about adapting this Missionary or support him with a part of his needs. This dear Brother and his good wife will do a good job on your behalf, in this fresh field.

Volunteer:

Help Ministries Asia creates opportunity for committed young men and women to come over to India to Serve God in their little ways.

We had Ms. Autumn from North Carolina. During her few days of staying with us she did a remarkable job among the little kids in our Christian day School. Her God-given talents were being used for teaching and entertaining the Kids. She was a blessing.

Br. Jason Carr of Wales:

This man of God is a Visionary. The vision the Lord gave to him and his fellow members in his church for reaching India has brought him to HELP Ministries Asia. Bro. Jason’s visit paved the way for us to work together in this needy part of the world. The co-operation of his Pastor and other members in his church is wonderful. We do appreciate their prayers and support for the work in India.

Need Sponsors:

Tabernacle Baptist Bible College is expecting to accept another 35 students for the coming academic year. Our students are coming from poor backgrounds and they are not able to pay any fees. When we use the term “poor” in, Bangladesh Burma, Nepal and India, they have nothing. This training program is the back-bone of Church-planting ministry. This Ministry is being carried on by faith.

A student needs $ 50-60, a month, for food alone. Pray and sponsor a future Church-planter.

Baptism in Jordan River:

Dr. A.D. Mathew led a team of 19 people for Israel Tour. During the Trip, in his personal witnessing, two souls got saved

He Baptized six people (two ladies and four men) in the Jordan River, on Easter. The journey through the Bible land was exciting and profitable.

Reports from Fields:

Our Missionaries in every field have great reports. Two of the Pastors from Bangladesh stayed back to join us at the Graduation service. Because you uphold this ministry in Prayer and support with sacrificial giving each and every work in our fields in Asia are growing.

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,” (Php 1:3)

January started out tremendously with some new people attending chapel and we even had a baptism. We had three scheduled to be baptized including our granddaughter, Shyloh.

Let me tell you about our baptism. A baptism at Horeb Chapel is different then at your church. At churches in America the baptistry pool is nice and warm no matter what time of year. Here at Horeb we tried to heat our baptistry but to no avail.

We held our baptism before our Sunday morning service. I entered the ice cold baptistry and was glad we had at least tried to heat it. I couldn’t imagine how cold it would have been if we hadn’t heated it.

Tracy a young woman who was recently saved was the first to be baptized. Oh the look on her face as she descended into the ice cold water was unforgettable.

Shyloh was next to be baptized. I held her up out of the water with one hand thinking I was being cleaver. I put my handkerchief over her face and plunged her beneath the water. As she came out of the water she screamed, “It’s so cold!” lips quivering as was her whole little body. It wasn’t a pleasant experience for her although it was an unforgettable one. Our third candidate, an elderly gentleman was ill so he wasn’t able to be baptized this time. That evening we had a fellowship. What a wonderful way to begin the year.

Early in January Meg’s mother was taken ill and admitted into the hospital. We went home to Tucson to help Mom and Dad through this trial. After being in the hospital for over a month it was evident that the doctors could do no more to help Mom. Every time they addressed one problem another ailment would surface. After much prayer and a lot of discussion with the doctors we decided to take Mom home. We enrolled her in the home hospice program and she was home in less than two days. We ministered to Mom at home for two weeks and then one sad morning the Lord gathered her to Himself.

“He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: he shallgather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” (Isaiah 40:11).

It was a difficult time for all the family, but the Lord gave us strength to make it through this time.

I conducted the funeral, it was the most difficult service I’ve ever had to prepare for and conduct. I praise the Lord for his grace and mercy. There were both saved and unsaved people present at the funeral. I praise the Lord for the opportunity to share his Word, to present the Gospel and to celebrate Emma Leigh Bellamy’s life.

Meg and I want to thank you for your prayers and patience as we went home to care and minister to both Mom and Dad. We would also like to thank all you who sent condolences, and cards. We covet your continued prayers for Meg and her father, Bill Bellamy. I have returned to Wales and Meg has stayed home for the time being to help her father.

Please continue to pray for the people of Wales. That souls would be saved and that the Lord would continue to use us here to minister in the valleys of South Wales.

Dear Praying Churches, Pastors, and Friends,

Thank you for all your prayers and support that we have received. It is good to know that we are not alone. Thanks also to the churches that have remembered our birthdays and anniversaries; it may seem like a small thing, but it is such a blessing when these letters and cards arrive in the post. We also have a new arrival in our family. His name is Luke, and it is exciting to have a boy in the family at last. God has blessed me more than I could ever put into words!

Growing Bible Study:

It has been a thrill to my heart to see the Bible Study members become faithful and consistent weekly. The biggest obstacle in starting a Bible Study in our home was the fact that, we never knew each week who was going to show up. There was no commitment from those attending, so we never knew what to expect. But, in the last few months, there has been a consistent handful coming out each week. The other obstacle in our Bible Study was the fact that so many other Versions of Scriptures were being used by those participating in it. It led to such confusion, especially in studying Proverbs. This is slowly being corrected and has improved vastly, but still is an area of concern. We seem to have good momentum coming into the summer months; I just want to see that continued and also, see more people being added to the study. My heart’s desire is to see that study really blossom, with every seat in our kitchen being filled. There is a least three people attending each Wednesday night that have never professed Christ as Saviour, so, it is a huge concern to me that they would be convicted of their lost condition, and that they turn to JESUS as the only hope of salvation. It amazes me to think of how much religion has so blinded their minds from the simplicity that is in Christ, that they cannot see the truth.

Deputation Progress:

The last few months has all been about adjusting to baby Luke’s arrival in our home. Things have been great, but now it is time to get back on my deputation trail. I have several bookings in the UK, and I am hopeful to have some more in Germany this year. It can be a lot of work in chasing up Pastors, but I am learning to be diligent and disciplined each day. There is still a lot of ground to cover; it is just a matter of balancing my part time Job, with the travel throughout the year.

The Near Future:

I mentioned previous about a possibility of a rental building in the Carrigaline area. It is now time to prayerfully consider opening up that building as a Church in the very near future. This has always been my dream, and it seems that there is sufficient momentum in the bible study for that move to be made. The uncertain aspect in all this is in convincing the study group that this move is needful. This is a matter of serious prayer. There are many obstacles to overcome, but I believe that this very well could be the LORD’S timing, to see another Local Bible Baptist Church open its doors in Ireland; Please Pray for such to be the case.

Biography of the Speaker

Dr Peter J. Williams (Evangelical Biblical Scholar)

Peter J. Williams earned his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. at Cambridge University studying ancient languages related to the Bible. Williams originally planned to become a Bible translator, but after seeing how many students of the Bible did not recognize its authority, Williams decided to change his professional direction and become an evangelical scholar in order to advance confessional scholarship.

After receiving his Ph.D., Williams accepted a postdoctoral position in the Faculty of Divinity, Cambridge University from 1997-1998 and thereafter taught Hebrew and the Old Testament at Cambridge as an Affiliated Lecturer and as a Research Fellow in the Old Testament at the Tyndale House (1998-2003). Williams then transitioned to teaching the New Testament at the University of Aberdeen.

Williams received the position as Warden of the Tyndale House four years later. He now acts as Warden and as a Lecturer in Biblical Studies at Cambridge University and also as an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies at the University of Aberdeen.

Looking back on his academic history, Williams describes his professional journey saying, “I find it amazing how I was led through stages of thinking I was going to do something else (be a Bible translator, OT scholar, NT scholar), only to find that I am now responsible for a library and research community in which [my] interests in both Testaments and in languages related to Bible study are highly useful.”

Williams is married to Kathryn and they have two children, Magdalena and Leo.

We are very blessed with our youth and junior ministries at Bethany and thank the Lord for their commitment.

This year we have been challenged with our first mission trip for our teenage youth group to America.

The mission trip has come after a great deal of prayer, and searching not only for/from the youth themselves, but also from the youth workers.

Over the last 7months we have been seeking the Lord and raising funds to help support this mission, and are really thankful for all the kind donations and support we have been given. Certainly a verse that our youth would know by now ;

2 Corinthians 9:7(KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

This has been the direction of the youth as they given a great deal of their time and effort to numerous fundraising activities.

So then why the mission trip;

The missions trip is by no means a holiday for the youth or leaders. We pray that this trip will push them outside their comfort zone and the Lord will really touch them to show the blessings that He richly provides.

We are thankful for the support of our brothers and sisters in the US, that will also be providing the help there, and showing where and what assistance is required in various States of America.

Although this trip should be very challenging for the youth, we truly believe that the Lord richly repays all their efforts.

Praise & Glorify God

The mission trip is intended not to bring the glory to ourselves, but to provide an outreach to others that need help.

Through the actions of the youth group we pray that more people will come to the true grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

With all the hard work that goes into the mission trip from the initial thought to the final actions, we must keep in mind that even with all the physical work that takes place, most importantly we must use at least the same effort in our spiritual work. We have this small mission, but is part of the great commission directed to all.

Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Experience

We live in a very confusing and sometimes very harsh world. We believe that the youth need to experience things first hand. This is by no means placing our youth in harms way, but we can often paint pictures from our own experiences, but not necessarily the full truth.

By getting out there and seeing the hardships and challenges of others, and also the support networks that are in place, they may experience the calling they have for the Lord, by their convictions and not ours.

Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Growth

We that all those that have called upon the name of Christ for their salvation, have a personal relationship with Him.

For this relationship to flourish they need to walk with Him. Within Bethany we teach from the bible, the true and living Gospel.

But it is in the world where the struggles of life can come and stifle us.

Realising the blessings we have, and seeing the support of others is a vital part of Christian growth.

Colossians 2:7 (KJV) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Life Skills

God has blessed us all with many skills and talents, the unfortunate thing is we often do not understand what we have or how to use them.

Through these missions we can often find what we are really strong at, and also improve our weaknesses with the help and guidance of our Lord and friends.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (KJV) Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

We should try to realise and develop our gifts that we have so freely been given, but also provide our gifts to help others in need.

Teamwork

Working together in life is really important, and realising that you are not alone, can be the most important supports you can give to anyone. Jesus has told us He will never leave or forsake us. How should we be for others?

The missions provide a great team building time for group, but also demonstrates the love and support that is around the world.

We are so thankful for our brothers and sisters throughout the world how help and support those who so desperately need it.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (KJV) Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Humility & Compassion

We believe that God has given us all special talents, and we are all here for a purpose. We so often see the heartache and anguish that is in the world through the media, and shamefully often get a little de-sensitised to these troubles.

The mission trip puts the youth out there in the midst, the realisation of what is there becomes real to them.

We can do… we just have to feel the need to… and trust the Lord, to do…

Matthew 9:36(KJV)  But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Please pray for our youth and leaders as they follow the Lord.
