Hi my name is Darren Rogers and have been the Pastor at Bethany Pwllgwaun for the past five years.
On behalf of everyone here at Bethany I would like thank you for visiting our website. We hope that browsing this site provides you with an insight into who and what we are as a church. But more than that, we would like to help you discover more about God, who He is and what He has done for you.
Church History
Foundations being laid in 1900
Bethany Baptist Church Pwllgwaun, has been blessed over the years, an we thank the Lord for our strong congregation and thriving ministries. We can never take this for granted and seek to do the Lords will for it is for His glory and honor.
Bethany is an exciting, Bible believing, Christ centered, independent Baptist Church. We are here to proclaim the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to minister to the community.
Our church is based on solid bible doctrine, and gospel preaching (see what we believe!). The Lord has truly blessed the men of the church who regularly preach the Word within our main services and additional meetings. (listen again service)
We also have strong links with our missionaries abroad, and hold special meetings both at home and abroad.
Church History
The main construction of our church started in May of 1900. The picture to the left shows the men digging (well maybe not digging) the foundations of the chapel.
This was no simple task when you consider that the church building is on the side of a steep river bank.
